Marcella E. Howard, 93, of Pine Beach, NJ formerly of Hillside and Elizabeth, NJ passed away on March 28, 2015 at Runnells Rehabilitation Center, Berkeley Heights.
Marcella was born in Tottenville, Staten Island and was raised in Elizabeth. She later settled in Hillside where she resided for 35 years. She graduated from Kean University and was employed as a teacher by St. Catherine's School, Hillside before her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Barnabas Church, Bayville and the Beachwood Women's Club, Beachwood NJ.

Beloved wife of the late Edmund Howard. Loving mother of Gregory Howard and his wife Donna of Hampstead, North Carolina, Eileen Howard of Pine Beach, NJ, Kevin Howard and his wife Elizabeth of Oldwick, NJ, Christopher Howard and his wife Elizabeth of Elizabeth, NJ and Joanne Howard of Cranford, NJ. Adoring grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Dear sister of Jeanne Guempel and her husband Robert of Pt. Pleasant, NJ and Jacqueline Manfriedi of Clearwater, FL.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 31st from 4-8 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union NJ. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, April 1st at 9 AM at St. Catherine's Church, Hillside, with entombment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
